THRACE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AGENCY / HASKOVO

PROJECT SUBJECT: The aim of the project; sustainable tourism to increase the capacity of the Bulgaria-Turkey cross-border cooperation is to increase the integration of traditional flavors with Europe. Studies have been conducted for gastronomic tourism in the target regions. The information collected was created and published on the website of the multilingual Gourmet Guide in the border region. This Guide has been introduced in different platforms and public opinion in Bulgaria and Turkey. In addition, local tastes were brought together with local and foreign guests with Gastronomy Festivals held in both regions.

PROJECT SUBJECT: The main objective of the project, which was carried out in the mobility program, was to create new collaborations by bringing together businessmen and businessmen of the two countries and to develop trade as a result of these collaborations. In this context, over 20 business delegations from Thessaloniki visited our city and held bilateral business meetings with our businessmen.

PROJECT SUBJECT: The objectives of the project are; development of the alternative tourism sector, increasing the number of individuals visiting Edirne, developing a road map for the development of alternative tourism in Edirne, increasing the tourism income of Edirne, increasing the employment in the region, realizing the investments planned by the tourism enterprises in the region for 5 years.

It was also necessary to evaluate the knowledge and experience of the relevant local actors in order to achieve successful results. The Draft Action Plan, which was put forward following the activities completed within this scope, was finalized at the Focus Group Meeting held with the participation of all stakeholders. The Action Plan prepared as a result of the Focus Group Meeting was then presented to the public.

Within the framework of the project, the Regional Bulgarian – Turkish Business Council “TRAKYA” (RBTBCT) was established in Haskovo and thus, the best practices and experience and technical knowledge gained through the “Regional Bulgarian” – Turkish Business Council Thrace program in 2006 were realized.

PROJECT SUBJECT: Improving Women’s Activities with the Knowledge of Entrepreneurship – Supporting Women Entrepreneurship emphasized the importance of women entrepreneurship on both sides. Trainings, conferences and seminars organized for women entrepreneurs have contributed to the growth of the number of women entrepreneurs. International conferences and exhibitions were organized on both sides.
